A 39-year-old father and his two young children were found safe early Monday morning after their boat went missing after leaving from Plymouth Sunday, according to the U.S. Coast Guard.

Mike Ryan and his two children, ages 5 and 6, were located off Scituate sometime before 3:49 a.m., the Coast Guard said in a tweet.

No injuries were reported.

According to the agency, the family set out at 10 a.m. Sunday from Plymouth in a white, 20-foot Wellcraft.

The Coast Guard asked for the public’s help in finding the family early Monday morning and posted on Twitter about the overdue boaters just before 2 a.m.

Coast Guard officials said crews were able to locate the boat by helicopter about 12 miles offshore, WHDH reports.

It appears engine failure was the problem, according to the news station. The boat was towed back to shore.

“Everybody’s in good health,” Coast Guard T.J. Malvesky told reporters. “We warmed them up, get them some coffee this morning, so they’re on their way back home. The kids are going get some well needed rest and we’ll take care of the boat here in Scituate.”
