RAPID CITY, S.D. — The Salvation Army of the Black Hills is looking to prepare kids in the area for the cold weather on its way.

The annual Coats for Kids is this coming Wednesday and Thursday. Parents and guardians of children in K-12 will be able to fill out an application and receive coats for their children on the same day. The coats will be distributed on a first come first serve basis until the coats are done.

Children do not need to be present for participants to receive coats, but to fill out an application they will need a picture ID, proof of residency and proof of age of the children receiving the coat, such a s a birth certificate.

To participate, you can visit the Salvation Army on 405 N. Cherry Avenue from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on October 9 and 10. If you have any questions or need more information you can call 605-342-0982.
